The computational facilities used by Mechanical Engineering
students and Post-doctoral Associates who carry out research in
fluid dynamics are located in the Computational Fluid Dynamics
Laboratory. The hardware available includes several types of
Unix-based workstations, such as Sun, SGI, DEC Alpha, and Pentium
II. The workstations in the CFD Lab are named after notable
fluids: amarone, barbaresco, barbera, barolo, brunello, cabernet,
fiano, gavi, greco, merlot, pinot, pommard, sassicaia, taurasi,
vinsanto.
