The computational facilities used by Mechanical Engineering students and Post-doctoral Associates who carry out research in fluid dynamics are located in the Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. The hardware available includes several types of Unix-based workstations, such as Sun, SGI, DEC Alpha, and Pentium II. The workstations in the CFD Lab are named after notable fluids: amarone, barbaresco, barbera, barolo, brunello, cabernet, fiano, gavi, greco, merlot, pinot, pommard, sassicaia, taurasi, vinsanto.
