HPC Boot Camp 2015
The University of Marylands Division of Information Technology announces a four-day High-Performance Computing Boot Camp at the University of Maryland, College Park. There are two sessions: May 26-29, 2015 and June 1-4, 2015.
Targeted at graduate students, research staff, and faculty members with computational science and engineering problems that demand high performance, this course will introduce participants to the basics of high-performance parallel computing. The boot camp will be taught by Dr. Alan Sussman. When successfully completed, the attendee will know how to:
- optimize sequential applications
- apply the basics of parallel computing
- write basic MPI and OpenMP applications
Attendees will use queuing systems such as Slurm and existing high-end resources at the University of Maryland during the course. The class is segmented into morning lectures and afternoon lab exercises. Classes run from 9:30 AM until 4PM in CSS 1410.
