Cochlea DSP Lattice Filters

Abstract
A pipelined lattice realization of a digital scattering model of the cochlea
is presented, based on real, lossless lattice synthesis of ARMA filters. The
structure is recursively designed and each lattice is precisely implemented by
a pair of complex conjugate transmission zeros via Richard's function
extractions. In addition to being suitable for VLSI realization, the structure
leads to a systematic cochlea parameter estimation, owing to the scattering
nature of the model.
